James graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 3.61 GPA. Additionally, he received an honors research distinction for publishing a thesis on Solar Air Conditioning with Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs). This year-long project involved testing MOFs to determine the most effective compounds based on water uptake and life cycle abilities. Thermodynamic properties of the renewable system were modeled using energy and mass balance equations calculating the optimal percent of recycled air in the indirect evaporative cooler. The work was published advancing the field of renewable energy for a sustainable future (Figures 1).

Collegiate internships include project engineering at Speedway LLC where he worked to construct convenience stores and oil pipelines. In this role structural and HVAC designs were reviewed using 2D rendering software. At Ohio State James was a paid Nuclear Research assistant and hired instructor for ME2040 Statics and Mechanics of Materials. Developing leadership skills he interned at the Los Angeles Country Club as an assistant superintendent. Socially, he volunteered to be the Academic Chairmen and active member in Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Throughout college he developed a pasion for innovation by leading design projects such as:

Since graduating James worked as a Process Improvement Lead at PepsiCo with focuses on automation and data analytics. Collectively, he has saved the company 100 hours of computing time per week plus over $1,250,000 in fines. Starting as a Supply Chain Associate he collaborated with manufacturing and sales to delivery $1MM of CPG product daily to Walmart. Leveraging VBA macros to automate order processing James also researched U.S. nutrition trends with NHANES data in R Studio (C++) leading to an R&D publication. His data analytics skills focused on building Power BI and Tableau dashboards. Notably, he was acting project manager for deploying an End to End Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with UiPath software. The prototype was tested and James presented the successful launch to over 100 company leaders. On top of adding value to the business he lead 3 Engagement Committees and served as the networking director of Reach employee resource group for 500 employees.

After PepsiCo, James accepted an offer as Quality Engineer at the Boeing Company. This position focused on manufacturing 737 airplanes and performing root cause analysis on nonconformance. Lean Six Sigma is a core principle of the job identifying ways to save time, reduce defects, and drive corrective action. He leads weekly chronic defect presentations to standardized a 9% reduction in fuselage wiring defects. Working with design engineers he helped to improved Electrical & Equipment designs using Integrated Visualization Technology (IVT) 3D renderings with ENOVIA software. Providing onsite factory support he works to improve manufacturing jobs with hands on training and restructuring installation plans. James also manages a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) team of 15 members for improving torque stripe application by 50%. On top of daily work statements he was the Seattle professional development focal and earned a certificate in project management.

James is currently a Predictive Maintenance Engineer on the Digital Fleet Management team at United Airlines. Their mission is to deploy health monitoring solutions that enhance the reliability of United's fleet. By leveraging aircraft data and integrating third-party solutions, they build ontologies and develop in-house applications for operational troubleshooting. This innovative team turns unexpected system failures into scheduled maintenance, positioning them at the forefront of the industry.
